The Field Dressing

Field Dressing [Front]Another basic piece of equipment I always carried in the field was the combat bandage, stored in a four by five-inch canvas pouch.  The bandage was sealed in a clear plastic bag to keep out moisture.

Field Dressing [Back] It unfolded to a six inch wide, one inch thick bandage designed specifically for combat wounds.  Two-foot gauze ties extended from both sides.  In use, the bandage was placed over a wound and the ties fastened to hold it in place.  After three weeks in the field I decided to carry more than one of these, also.
